Citizen Digital Foundation’s Privacy Policy
Citizen Digital Foundation (called ‘CDF’ on the rest of this page) is an Indian social enterprise that aims to promote safe and responsible navigation and innovation in digital ecosystems. Our web address is https://citizendigitalfoundation.org
CDF places a high priority on protecting your privacy. This privacy policy was created in order to demonstrate CDF’s commitment to the privacy of our website users and members. This policy explains what types of information we collect from you when you use our website or enroll for our workshops.
CDF may collect some of your personal information like name, email address and phone number in order to respond to your queries or send you material that you have shown interest for.
You directly provide CDF with most of the data we collect. We collect and process data when you:
CDF also interacts with various stakeholders including end-users of technologies on various touch-points like events, sessions, workshops, conferences, webinars and seminars, collaborations etc. Photographs and videos from such interactions, including ‘piece-to-camera/mic’ may be used/featured on our and our partners’ websites, social media handles, reports, and presentations. This is a necessary process for documenting and amplifying our work. This is the extent to which your data will be used with our cognisance. In accordance with Section 8 (1) of The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2022, this is categorised as ‘deemed consent’ unless explicitly categorised otherwise.
Right to refuse
You may approach us directly via our communication channels if you would not like your image/video to be featured, and we will honour your decision as quickly and suitably as we can. Unless explicitly denied or refused, the process of sharing is default, because it may not be possible to seek consent from large number of people/participants beforehand, on all occasion. We also welcome alternate solutions of managing data better.
We use the information we collect from you for specific, limited purposes. If you do not wish to receive our messages, you may always “opt out,” either now or at any time in the future. Doing so will cease all communications from us.
CDF collects your personal data so that we can:
Use of your data to provide updates and information would continue only after seeking your clear, informed consent.
